Top Ten Ways to Increase Traffic

So the very first post on this site. It took me awhile to figure out the first topic to discuss. I decided to stick with the basics. Here is a list of Ten sites you must submit your website/weblog to in order to increase your traffic. The listing of your site within these pages will add to your traffic immediate. I recommend manually submitting to these sites through the given links instead of paying someone else to do it for you. It might save you some time hiring a service but in the long run, you will know it was done correctly if you submit through these links.

Don't wait submit today, it will probably take you two minutes a website to submit and you will be glad you did.

1- Google index- this is probably the best source of traffic there is. It does require you have a highly linked website to maintain a high level presence but it is a good start to list your site. Also consider listing a sitemap with Google webmaster tools in order to fully understand how google indexes your site. Click to add URL to google.

2-Exact Seek- This is another great site to make sure your link is included in. Click to add URL to Exact Seek.

3- Scrub the Web- Click to add URL to Scrub the Web.

4-Alexa.com- this site not only will be a must list, it also offers great tools for performance tracking. Click to add URL to Alexa.com.

5-Open Directory- This is where Yahoo and Google get there indexes from. It is not easy to get in but well worth the effort. Click to add URL to Open Directory.

6-Websquash- This site has driven an incredible amount of traffic to me. It is free and easy to submit url. Click to add URL to Websquash.

7-Starting Point- This directory is usually overlooked, but it started driving traffic to me before any other. Click to add URL to Starting Point.

8-Gigablast- Not my favorite but well worth the effort. Click to add URL to Gigablast.

9-What You Seek- This one won't even take you five seconds to do. Click to add URL to What You Seek.

10-InfoTiger- A must list site. Easy, effective and helpful. Click to add URL to InfoTiger.

Now remember submitting your site isn't all the work you have to do to get traffic. It is just a part. And don't think because you submitted to one search engine your job is done. Search engines are a positive feedback system, submitting to one adds a link to another and so on. This will positively impact both traffic and search engine results. There is also no substitute for clear, original content.
